Simpsons Stamps

The United States Postal Service revealed the stamps for “The Simpsons.” I really like that they went with Matt Groening’s drawings rather than the versions that are used on the show that have been perfected. Something about the unevenness and how things are just a little “off” make it feel more comforting. What the hell am I talking about.

Kanye Humbled By South Park, Turned Into Gay Fish

Last night’s episode of South Park entitled “Fishsticks” jumped in front of Kanye West’s ego-train and did the unthinkable.  It has apparently made Kanye West rethink his ego.

Douchebag Screenwriter Hired To Pen The Movie I Wanted To Write

Slashfilm is reporting that probable douchebag, Mark Bomback, has been hired to write script for “The Umbrella Academy” movie.  Based on the graphic novel scripted by “My Chemical Romance” frontman, Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Ba, “The Umbrella Academy” is the story of a dysfunctional family of washed-up superheroes.  It’s “The Royal Tenenbaums” meets “The Incredibles” (which I would have been perfect for!).

‘Dollhouse’ (Likely) Cancelled *Updated*

“Dollhouse” has been officially likely been canned, and in a bad way. FOX isn’t even allowing the show to complete it’s run, and is instead stopping it at episode 12, “Omega,” listing it as the season finale.

Wall-E Case Mod Looks Amazing

This post requires the obligatory Soviet Russia joke: In Soviet Russia, case mod makes you.

That didn’t quite work, although I imagine I’ll be doing that for all posts remotely related to Russia. Easy jokes are fun. Like easy girls, except without the STDs.

Anyway, check out this sweet Wall-E case mod. It’s really impressive when you realize the parts were all machined out of real metal. This isn’t so much a case mod as a complete case fabrication.

Love the cricket, too.

New Poster for ‘Where the Wild Things Are’

And we’ve got another poster for “Where the Wild Things Are.” Fun, but I preferred the earlier one with the kid. Something about that one felt more…real, whereas this one looks a lot more manufactured and “clean.”

Dollhouse Done For

Cue the sad trombone. The numbers are in for Friday, April 3rd, and Dollhouse received its lowest ratings yet. It’s over, and I will buy everyone who reads this site a frosty treat if it gets renewed by FOX.

Adam Savage Answers Questions from Reddit

Adam Savage from Mythbusters took the time to answer questions submitted by users of the social news website Reddit. Most of the time this would mean that the editors chose the best questions that were submitted, but as far as I can tell the users themselves voted on the best questions.

Wes Anderson Loves Slow-Mo

Found over on kottke, Moving Image Source has put up the first in a five-part series of video essays on Wes Anderson and his influences. Not many would argue that he is one of the most imitated directors in recent years, and it’s interesting that his influences go beyond New Wave directors like Truffaut to Orson Welles and even “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz.
